Chapter 123.

LOGAN’S POV

I threw my coat on the coat rack while I walked up to my cupboard. I brought out a bottle of whiskey and two glasses. I placed Gertrude’s head on the table, then I filled both glasses with whiskey.

I sighed heavily as I threw myself on the couch. I sipped from glass and laid back as I began to unbutton my shirt. I had gotten pretty sleepy after journeying endlessly without rest, but I still had to give a response to this matter.

I heard a knock on the door and I asked who it was.

“It’s Luke, Master. I know you might be resting but I wish to speak with you,” Luke said.

“You may come in, Luke. He isn’t resting,” Gertrude replied.

Luke entered the room and closed the door behind him.

“Master, I would like to talk to you about—”

“It’s about the letter, Am I right?” I interrupted him.

“Yes, Master.”

I walked up to my coat and reached into the pocket. I yanked out the scroll and tossed it to him before retreating to the couch.

Luke opened the scroll and began to read.
