That’s Her

FREDA’S POV

After the long weekend, Freda felt like a new being, ready for more stories about Damien’s unforgiving temper and hard-lashing tongue

She quickly rushed to her compact dinette to prepare a bowl of corn flakes, sliced fruits, crushed nuts and almond milk, so she would use the fewest minutes possible to prepare and finish breakfast.

I better get out of my freight house fast just to be sure I could submit my proposal later this morning. Now that Milo had told me everything about Mister Pseudo-Grouch, I should do my part to show Damien’s dad how big my employer’s company really is.”

She re-considered dressing up again in the same outfit as she wore last Saturday and after a few minutes of thought Freda eventually decided to do so. After all, Housekeeping had laundered and pressed her black body-hugging dress, and even added a tear-dropped shaped backless design to it. To be honest, the gorgeous programmer/engineer was dying to find a chance to wear her contour knee-high dress once again.

And this time, her department people will find her at her best, and will confidently face even the most feared wolves of the company…

Even if that rabid wolf is Damien himself!

“Am I glad that I had gotten rid of that unbearably disorganized and sluggish secretary,” Damien mumbled to himself. “I sent HR the request for a new one last weekend before the hunters’ fiasco at the packhouse. I probably will meet the new one today.”

“Engineer Travolta?”

A sweet feminine voice broke the young multi-billionaire’s thoughts. Ah, wearing a classy semi-formal outfit, even a bit of jewelry and stiletto high-heels. No make-up but she looks lovely without it. And she smells heavenly, like pine and citrus fruits. Yes, she is most likely Moriah’s replacement. But why did HR neglect to let me know of her arrival?

“Yes, come on in… what’s your name, dear lady?”

“You can call me Freda Davis, Sir. No need to add engineer to the front of my name. It’s kinda long for an already given and obvious title.”

What the… How on earth did HR manage to snag an engineer for a measly secretarial position? If this is only a temporary arrangement for her thesis, I will be forced to turn her down since I’m looking for a more permanent secretary. But I find it hard to imagine doing that since I feel a strong unexplained pull towards her even if I just met her now…

Just then, the handsome computer program tycoon hears his wolf excitedly yelp inside his mind. Damien, THAT’S

HER! That new secretary is our mate… I would love to make her mine soon! And I’m sure you feel the same way based on that ‘thing’ tenting your trousers, he

he

he.

Shut up, Thorn! Based on her scent, she’s human. We must not scare her off, you hear. I’ll handle her for now while you stay silent, is that clear, wolf?

His inner wolf howled in indignation but agreed with his human.

OK D, I’ll trust you on this but don’t you dare lose her, alright!

“Sir, here are copies of my secret project program: High-Level Internet Security System or HISS for short,” the beautiful blond ‘secretary’ said as she placed a thick Manila folder filled with papers on top of his massive mahogany desk that was in front of Damien. Also inside the slightly tanned-colored folder was a small brown envelope with a thumb drive where the HISS installer was. “I’ve already tested it and have also enhanced it. I can create a presentation anytime for you and the company board members if you want me to.”

Damien’s grey eyes were now mere slits as he looked at the contents after hesitantly picking it up from his double-layered glass desk cover. Damn, she couldn’t have possibly created this program on her own! I cannot accept that a mere woman could do all this!

After flipping a few more pages, the GSD company president and owner raised one thick black eyebrow as he asked her a question that was slightly biased or even slightly judgmental.

“How old are you, Miss Davis?”

“I’m seventeen, Sir. But I’ll be turning 18 in a couple of months,” Freda answered with a proud smile.

No way could an almost eighteen-year-old make this! Only a computer engineer can create such a program. Either she’s lying or she’s a fucking genius!

What’s your damn point, Damien? So what if she made or not make that program? She’s.

Our. Mate! And that’s all that fucking matters!

I never want to be saddled to a liar for the rest of my life, wolf! I don’t know about you but I’ll reject her the first chance I get and I don’t care if you, my dad or everyone in the pack doesn’t talk to me ever again for that!

And what if she really made that program, huh?

Challenged Thorn, with an intense daring tone in his voice.

“I’m telling you, a temporary secretary can’t possibly create that!” Damien exclaimed, not noticing how he was now saying his replies to his wolf out loud.

“T-temporary secretary? I don’t understand what you mean Sir Travolta,” Freda asked in a puzzled manner. “I’m actually your company’s resident…”

The brown-eyed female Doctorate graduate’s statement was cut off by a set of feeble knocks on one of Damien’s executive office’s double doors.

“Come in,” loudly called out the youthful CEO. “It’s not locked!”

To his surprise, Moriah’s head peaked into his office with her typical messed up dark hair. “Sorry for being late, Sir but there was a technical issue with the trams and I got stuck underground for almost an hour and…”

“What are you doing here? I thought Miss Davis was your replacement as my secretary,” Damien declared in a surprised voice.

5… 4 … 3… 2… 1…

After 5 seconds, Freya was loudly guffawing at her employer’s unknowing error. Moriah would have joined to giggle with her friend and co-employee but the Boss can easily fire her and she doesn’t know of any better job replacement despite Damien’s annoying and angering habits.

And Moriah knew for a fact that there were a number of similar companies who had regularly sent counter-offers to Freda, except that the lady genius hated ruining her very clean work record. Especially since, this was her first job and her odd but honorable principle insists that she’s required to stay for at least 2 years with a company before considering better and greener pastures.

But otherwise, she knew that Freda could get a higher-paying job easily if she got fired for laughing at her superior. Not for her though so she swallowed her mirth, and explained in the most serious voice that she could muster…

“Boss Damien, Miss Freda is no secretary, far from it! She is the company’s foremost child-genius who finished her PhD in Computer Programming and Engineering with honors and in less than half the number of years a normal student would take.”

Boom bitch ha

ha

ha! I love her already,

Thorn gratingly chortles.

I told you she can make that program. Eat that Damien!

The 25-year-old ebony-haired bearded magnate, suddenly found himself speechless as he looked at Moriah with his mouth open then swiftly turned to the still laughing, blond division manager in the black backless skin-tight dress, his square jaw still dropped open in bewilderment.
