Anguish

Max and Darius came near the room where Melanie was being confined. Thea was sitting there with tears streaming down her cheeks.

Shouts and cries of anguish can be heard from inside the room. 

Max walked towards the glass window of the room and looked at Melanie who is trying her level best to free herself from the binds that were restraining her to the bed.

She is crying and yelling for someone to remove them. The scene pierced Max's heart and it hurt so much.

Melanie suddenly looked at him through the glass but there is no recognition in her eyes. Her facial expression changed into one of hunger.

She barred her teeth and her pupils dilated. Her teeth seem to be sharper and her nails are longer than usual.

She is looking at Max like he is her food and nothing else. And her struggle intensified, but to no avail.

She started to scream incoherent words again. 

'It's the poison, not Melanie. She will get better soon' Max chanted
