Chapter 4

"Get what ever you want" Christiano looked up briefly from his phone before looking straight back down.

He had decided that I needed to go shopping as it was a, and I quote "girl thing".

"I hate shopping" I groaned, my eyes searching the racks of clothing before me.

"But when I brought Angel shopping she practically died on the spot" he looked so confused... "I thought all girls like to shop?"

"I am not a typical girl. Shopping is my last priority" I huffed loudly, trying to emphasise my boredom

"you are trouble already." he tucked his phone away in his blazer pocket before turning and looking across the street "ice cream? please say you like ice cream"

"i love ice cream!"

----

Once we had finished the most chocolaty sundae ever Christiano took me back to the club. It was strange seeing normal people, living normal lives. Even though my stay had been short, my world had become completely different.

As we walked back into the club the air was filled with shouting.

"But I haven't been out in 4 months Joey!" a girl with pin straight platinum blonde hair threw her arms about before a very agitated Joey.

"That's not my problem! Ask Angelo or Christiano I can't deal with you crazy femmine!"

"Joey go and help the boys with the delivery... I'll deal with Sasha" Christiano's voice was so calm but so powerful at the same time, as soon as he spoke the whole room fell silent. Joey nodded before walking off muttering to himself.

"Ugh. you could have just left her somewhere" Sasha muttered, turning away from Christiano slightly.

"Do you want to speak up? because I can't hear you and I find that very disrespectful." he moved from behind me over to infront of Sasha

"If you want to request a day out you know the procedure Sasha." he turned to all of the girls who stood around awkwardly in the room "I must be crazy to run a club full of femmine. If you can't do your jobs I'll find somewhere else for you to work... how about the toilets?" a few girls winced at this... I couldn't help but smirk slightly.

"But Christiano it's not fair-" Sasha wined

"Life isn't fair Sasha. You chose to wh*re yourself around so don't blame me when you get cold feet"

that shocked me. Did Christiano really think we were just here to wh*re ourselves? Maybe Sasha was content with that but I definitely wasn't ok. Maybe this was my chance... I felt a cold gust of wind tickle the back of my neck... the door was open... he had left it open!

Before I knew it, and before I could see anyone's face I bolted from the room, and ran as fast as I could out of the door which Christiano had foolishly left open.

----

My feet hit the pavement, the chains on my jacket clanging with every step. I really didn't know why I ran... I had no plan of what to do now... But I know he'd come after me, apparently I'm the gobby type.

I must have ran for a good half an hour, before I finally stopped when I reached the other side of the city. I threw myself down on the bench, my breathing heavy and laboured.

What was I going to do? I had just made the biggest mistake of my life... not because I would miss the 'proffesion' but that I knew the whole god damn mafia would be after me by now.

I couldn't leave New York, I had foolishly left my purse in my room!

"do you mind if I sit here?" I nodded, not even looking up.

"nice day today"

"yeah" I replied, before looking up. He was probably the same height as me, with shaggy blonde hair which flopped over his face almost covering his deep brown eyes.

"I'm Sam" he held out his hand

"Vanessa" I took his hand, shaking it firmly

"You look like you've been running... not really running attire" I looked down at my thin ballet pumps and jeans...he was right

"I just had to get out of somewhere quickly"

"I know what you mean. Hey I know this is a long shot but by any chance do you maybe want to come get a burger with me?"

40 minutes ago I was stood inside a mafia club with a room full of catty strippers and a very arrogant Italian. And now, it was as though that had never happened, I was just a normal girl talking to a normal guy on a park bench. it felt normal... safe... but it felt wrong.
