Chapter Twenty Eight

ELENA

“Who were you talking to just now?”

The deep baritone that pierced through the silence of the night was enough to make me jump. But I recognized who it was, even before I looked up to see a frowning Jason looking frown at me from the platform he was standing.

Why was he outside by this time of the night? And why was he interrogation me with such a tone?

“Nobody.” I answered nonchalantly and just ignored him, walking up to the stairs that would lead into my cabin. I was tired as hell. And all I wanted, was to lay down and sleep. That’s what I wanted…craved…

But I was interrupted as Jason just jumped down casually from the platform and stalked towards me.

That made me frown and stand rooted to the spot.

“Who the hell was that, and why were you talking to him by this time of the night? Do you know what the time is?” The harshness of his voice, coupled with his words in general, got to me.
