17. Haunted House

The next morning when Manik woke up he heard Pallavi and Kabir’s voice, indicating they were back. He went to the washroom and looked at himself in the mirror. His lip had cut badly. Though he was supposed to be angry due to Nandini's act but he was not surprisingly. Instead, he felt a sense of tingling happiness. 

The thing that worried him was he couldn’t go out in front of anyone like this. They would surely question him about the cut and he couldn’t tell the truth. Next whole week Manik left for office early in the morning and returned late at night. He was wearing masks in front of everyone. He didn’t have his meal at home. Pallavi was worried for him and she forced him to eat a lot of times but everytime he escaped saying he had important work or he was late.
