Anabel got herself out of the tub and dressed. Marcus was already waiting in her room when she opened the door. “Hey.” She said combing her hair. “What do these mean?” she asked pulling up the sleeves to her robe.

“Those are symbols.” He said clearing his throat. “It was a ritual I did to make you into my lover.” He said looking away from her. “I told you a lot of the things that I’ve done to you, I do feel bad for doing. You’re the first mortal to give me those butterfly feelings. I hadn’t felt something like that in a very long time. I didn’t love Hecta like that.” He said looking back at her.

“So why am I missing my memory?” she asked shaking her head. She was afraid he was going to say yes, and then she would have to hate him.
