In the evening, I was about to go home after working hours when Saket came into my office. I looked at him. he was looking tired.

I frowned and asked. “Saket, is everything alright. You are looking exhausted”. She shook her head.

“Actually, my mother had fallen sick”.

“What!!! Why didn’t you tell me before. I would have come with you”. I said with genuine concern.

“She also didn’t tell me on the phone. Because she thought that I would worry about her on the way. But when I reached home I saw her burning in fever. So, I immediately called the doctor and he gave me some medicines. I was sitting with her the whole time and came back after her fever subside”. He told me before taking a deep sigh.

I offered him a glass of water which he accepted and fully chugged it down.

“You have to stay with your mother in this condition. She needs you more right now”. I spoke while packing my bag.
