The next morning, Karan went to his work but not before our fake argument to listen for Nisha. But in reality, I was in Karan’s arms feeling the warmth. Then he went out slamming the door as loud as he could. I thought that the door will come out of its hinges. But thank god, it was strong.

I took the glycerine from the side table and put it in my eyes to make sure that my eyes look red and puffy when Nisha come and find out that I am crying. and it worked.

As soon as Karan left. She came into my ward. I started to cry as well.

“Ma’am are you O.K.?” she placed her hand on my shoulder. I hugged her and faked hard cries.
