Chapter 57

"Tell me, has your mother told you anything about where she came from?" General Marcus asked Isabella .

Isabella then tried to remember her childhood days, when she and her mom were living together as common folks. They were mere peasants but they were happy back then.

She reminisced a time when she was seven years old. Her mother and her were outside their small cottage at night. They were watching the twinkling stars in the dark sky.

"The stars are beautiful mommy." Her seven-year old self said.

"Yes they are." Her mother replied.

"But your are the most beautiful mommy. You look like a princess." Isabella smiled at her mom. Her mother giggled.

"Thank you baby girl." Then her mother smiled sadly.

"Why are you sad mommy?" Isabella asked looking at her worriedly.

"There was a time that I was called princess." Her mother said while looking at the stars.

"Really mommy?" Isa asked excitedly. Her eyes twinkling in excitement, wanting to know more.

"It was like a dream." Her mother smi
