Ch 39 - My Time Will Come

HUGH'S POV

“You could die,” I pointed out.

Pixie smiled. “I have a feeling we won’t.”

“The moment they glow when you’re near them, you come back out,” Edgar warned them. I guess he was curious about their confidence.

“Got it!” they nodded.

Instead of sending them both in at the same time, we sent Cyrus in first. Once more, the movement around the room had stopped as we all watched him approach the devices. They didn’t glow, so Edgar opened the individual holding boxes.

Cyrus did the same thing that Shay did by testing out all the devices. He even had the same reaction she had to the last one, dropping it on the ground, and then looking at it like it was showing him some information. By now, Edgar and I were itching to find out what it told him. He picked it up, put it back and returned to us.
