RICHARD’S POV

I lost track of time in this mega club. I didn’t pay attention, but I knew it had been a while. I arrived around midday, and now the sun was setting. But I didn’t care. It was worth it as long as I wasn’t in that penthouse with her.

I couldn’t believe she thought I was cheating on her with her best friend. That’s absurd! That wild animal who was mentally unstable. Even if she were the only woman on earth, I’d never consider getting involved with her. I’d rather stay celibate for life.

Angry, I downed another glass of whiskey and slammed the glass on the table as if to shatter it. I didn’t care if I was drinking too much; I just needed to get wasted and forget everything. It was incredibly difficult to see someone I was getting attached to look at me like that. As if I were an irresponsible man who couldn’t control his urges. Like I was a contagious disease she was trying to avoid.
