My back hit the ground, but that was all I felt – no sharp teeth on my skin, no thick slobber. Then I heard another growl, heard a heavy thud, followed by a whimper. I opened my eyes and to my left I saw that a new wolf had come from nowhere, baring his teeth at the rogue, who was lying to his side, bleeding from his neck.
