Chapter 21

Iris:

I watched as Ezio walked inside the room.

His eyes were wide in both rage and surprise. His body tensed, his hands shaking as he fought to control himself.

It was a while past noon and I wasn’t even expecting him to be back until a few hours later, and considering that the pack members’ voices were loud enough for me to hear despite me being in the room meaning that they were still out. Therefore, I was surprised to see him back as early as he was.

“Ezio?” I asked, catching him off guard. He shook his head and walked toward me. I watched as he laid his head on my lap, a manner that he usually did when he was annoyed, and I ran my fingers through his hair; I waited for what he was to tell me.
