Chapter 37

Iris:

“Alpha” I said, greeting the man when I entered his daughter’s bedroom.

He sat on the edge of her bed with her on his lap. His eyes met mine and he nodded, watching as I stood by the door “where were you, Iris?”

“Your sister grew ill, and Ezio called me to tend to her; I apologize” I said, looking at my feet, avoiding his eyes.

“What’s going on with Miley?” He asked.

“I believe she grew a little exhausted, I gave her tea to help calm her down” Katherine stood beside me, her heart racing as she watched the Alpha’s expression. I knew that she feared the man, anyone in this house would be as frightened if they saw how casually he killed other pack members without remorse.

“I see” Alpha Ryker said calmly. He put his daughter down before standing up. I watched as he walked toward me, his eyes fixed on my own as if a predator approaching its prey, and I knew that choosing to stand my ground, keeping my eyes on his, wasn’t the smartest move that I could have done at that very moment
