In the morning Leanunya stood and stretched. She had stayed up most of the night making sure Nagos was warm enough and to keep predators away. She looked at the still sleeping nagos and went to him, shaking him.
“Time to get up, come on. Your training starts.” Nagos opened his eyes and looked at her. She spoke, “You'll be getting up at dawn from now on, ok?” Nagos nodded after sitting up and stretching out.
Leanunya watched him calmly as he got up. She nodded “come on let’s go out. You’ll only get breakfast after fifty laps around the shack.” She then left the shack and entered the cold air of the forest making her fur fluff up in response. She looked at Nagos who shivered and was holding his hurt arm. She spoke, “get going.” Nagos nodded and started to walk around the shack. Leanunya spoke
Nagos ran training, trying to keep up with leanunya. It always amazed him at how fast she could run and have so much agility at the same time. He had already been training under her for over two years. The training was harsh most of the time and many times he had almost died. He managed to survive though and now he was almost ready to go home again. He could barely wait to see his father again. He was overly excited to see his father after two years. He had already grown at least a foot in height if not more though he wasn’t positive on that.He ran barely keeping up with Leanunya who was in front of him. Nagos was panting as he ran after her. He had learned to hunt and read a situation he was in since he had started training. He could now tell when to run or fight after a few minutes. He had also become good at spotting openings in his target. Leanunya had taught him to always go for the kill
Wolferan sighed reading a report he had gotten. He had reread the paper at least ten times already. He was really disappointed. He had no news of the silver-eyed demon and only kept getting reports of rumors that always turned out to be false. This was frustrating him to no end. It had been two whole years since he had any real news of her. There had been a few times when he had reports of a mysterious woman in a few towns near where he lost the silver-eyed demon last, but it was always brief. The reports said a mysterious cattrina came into town with a boy and bought clothes and left. There was no definitive proof it was the silver-eyed demon as none of his informants got a good look at the woman and boy. He didn’t believe those reports to be the silver-eyed demon but he had a nagging feeling towards those reports and remembered them. He didn’t know why they bothered him but they did. He
Leanunya sat up and stretched, having woken at dawn. She looked over to the still sleeping Nagos and stood. She called out “Nagos get up. Let’s get going” Leanunya then started to get her stuff gathered to go including gathering the meat slices from the zarowl Nagos had killed the night before. Once she finished putting the meat in a bag she went to the still sleeping Nagos. She scowled and unceremoniously kicked him off and out of the bed this time for sure waking him. She always did this if he didn’t wake the first time she called him to get up. She looked at him coldly as he sat up on the floor, a pouty look on his face. This look only made her even more irritated. She had discovered while training him what a disappointment he really was.Nagos had hesitated his first kill and then continued to disappoint her. She had orig
Leanunya yawned, waking. They had been traveling for at least two weeks and should be arriving in Rynion tomorrow morning or by tonight. They had fairly nice weather as they had traveled. Although today was cloudy and looked like it was going to rain. If it rained they wouldn’t reach Rynion until tomorrow morning or even later. If it didn’t rain they would make it in this evening but she was unsure if she wanted that. Although the rain really couldn’t slow them down she disliked walking in the rain but would do so if necessary. She stood up and stretched out telling Nagos to get up. Leanunya gathered her stuffed and ate some jerky after she finished waiting for Nagos to finish getting his stuff gathered. This was another thing she disliked about Nagos. He was very messy. She knew he was still a child but he would take everything out of his bag just to grab his blanket to sleep. She
Leanunya talked with Drake til dawn, the rain having not stopped until well into the night long after Nagos and those others had fallen asleep. She knew she wouldn’t have slept anyway so she had stayed up with Drake. They had talked about many things but at the same time nothing. They both knew more than either chose to speak about or wanted to. They had spoken of nothing that could give away who they truly were or what they did as a living. They had talked about simple things. Fighting styles and journeys but never about the deaths or the tolls. They talked and began to know each other without truly knowing each other. Although, knowing one day they would meet again either as friends or enemies after they parted. They had long finished off the bottle of whiskey they had shared but they didn’t mind as they talked through the night just like two old pals would do.
Wolferan looked at the newest report and smiled. He finally had news about the silver eyed demon and it was a confirmed report. He stood his eyes like two Golden torches. He ordered a bag of supplies to be made as he went outside to wait. He started to pace once outside, being too impatient to wait much longer. Finally after a long while a servant brought him a bag of supplies. Wolferan grabbed the bag and with an impatient leap he flapped his black wings taking to the sky. He climbed high up into the sky heading for Rynion. He found it odd that he would get a report of the silver-eyed demon from the same city he had last seen her in. Although he was curious about this he was more concerned about catching her.He had to admit he was obsessed with
Leanunya walked along a dirt packed road headed for the capital city. She knew she was close and subconsciously picked up pace. She wanted to arrive before dark, if not sooner. She walked swiftly, soon arriving before the city gates. They were huge and dominaniring steel gates unlike the wooden city gates other cities had. After she paid the entrance fee she walked through the gates. The gates were several feet thick built for resisting against sieges. There were also several notches in the walls for archers. The capital city was built to be easy to defend but hard to attack. That also included the fact it was built on the edge of a cliff on the far end of the city. She looked around as she walked into the city going through the thick crowds of people. The place was packed with people and stores tr
She lashed her tail even as Wolferan neared her, his eyes on her and her dagger. She backed up as he approached. He had no weapons but considering his sharp claws on his hands he really didn’t need one. Neither did she but chose to use one. Leanunya also knew he had enough strength alone to be dangerous even without his claws. This was just her instinct telling her but she trusted her instincts.Leanunya backed up til she bumped into a wall and Wolferan attacked at that moment. She dropped to the side and lashed out with her dagger at his thigh. The dagger tore his pants but glanced off his dragon scales.Leanunya cursed and scrambled away just barely avoiding his attempt to grab her. She grit her teeth from the pain of her own movement but continued to move to get out of his grasp. She panted facing him once a distance away from him.
