“He is Elio Ford. Do you see him? They wanted him to be a soldier, an assassin of the underground.” A man from behind spoke not knowing he can hear him.
“Soldier?” The other man scoffed. “Nobody can bend his knees. He is born to be a leader.”
“As always, billionaires are exceptional, But he is out of this world, isn’t he? People make stories of him now.”
He stood up as the twenty men who were surrounding him flinched. Without sparing a glance to anyone he walked away from the lobby of his hotel.
Getting inside the car, Elio instructed the driver to follow the route to the hospital where Inei was admitted at.
He closed his eyes. Last night, he couldn’t get a wink of sleep. His eyes stared at the sky and he was forming shapes of the girl he saw at the party. His mind whirled and he did not want to forget her.
He felt a rush of feelings course through him. Then and there he wanted to strip her clothes and see if she was the girl he knew from the past.
Those dark orbs, dark hair, and energy she emitted. The way her face looked harmless yet she killed two of my bodyguards without knowing. The way she did what he wanted to do for years. She beat Inei and the satisfaction was immense.
He smiled. What should he do with her? What must he do with her? His demons were screaming. Should he just buy her? No. The process needs to be enjoyable. He mustn't have her now. He needed to see her tremble with fear.
He came out of the car as the wind blew over his hair. The people in their normal habitat stopped working and stared at him. Some with fear and some shocked. As he passed by the crowd, not a single sound was heard.
Pin-drop silence was in the air. They were seeing Elio Ford with their own eyes. The man who wouldn’t appear in public was now in a hospital.
He walked towards the VIP lounge and went to the elevator. The director had closed an elevator for the other VIPs just because he was coming.
His presence was rare and anticipated. Soon he reached the cabin of his cousin, Inei. Seeing him on the doorstep, the nurses dropped their work and immediately headed off.
He came in front of her. His eyes were bored and bold.
She scoffed at him. “Finally my brother wanted to visit his sister.”
He sat down on a chair, one leg on top of the other. “What did you want me to do? Let the angel of death visit you?” He said mocking her.
She made a face at him. “Have some shame. Your sister was beaten up yesterday and you couldn’t even find the culprit yet.”
He took the newspaper from the table and bore his eyes into it. “Stop emphasizing the word, brother. I am not.”
“Then what are you, I wonder?” She asked while pushing her red hair behind her ears.
“Someone not willing to be here.” He said.
She wanted to punch him for his arrogance. Only if she wanted to invite death, she would do so.
“Find the girl for me.”
“I am.” He said.
She was shocked. “You are?”
He didn’t answer.
She sat up. “Who is she? Where is she now?”
He looked up at her. “Now, you look quite fine.”
“Just tell me who she is.” She urged him.
Keeping the paper on the side he fixed his coat. “As you’re fine now, I believe I don’t have to visit you anymore.” He said.
“Huh?” She was confused.
He left without even bothering to answer her.
The people parted ways to let him through. The most influential man countries, the most loved and seen as an inspiration was walking through the hall of the hospital. The image the people of the world had of him was of pure innocence.
He was known to be the youngest billionaire on the face of the earth. The public wouldn’t stay a day without news of him. His appearance was mostly in political congregations or board meetings other than that he was known as a legend in the streets.
So many stories about his life, parents, and lovers, and many even said him to be immortal for the fear of knowing that if he collapses, the country’s half of the economy will face downfall.
He was a sinner in the disguise of a savior.
As he headed inside the car, he ordered to be taken to the mansion. He rested his head back and closed his eyes.
“I must have her.” His mind resonated.
In his life, he saw women as a means of nothing. They meant nothing in his life. But this girl. He was losing his mind for days since that night. Something inside of him woke up and he needed to feed it.
Otherwise, it’ll eat up his insides.
Five days later,
He tapped his shoes on the marble floor. His veiny hands rested on his head as his dark orbs that screamed dominance pierced the helpless soul in front of him.
Ayah held her bag as tight as she could. She was in the presence of the most powerful man she knew of, the whole of Japan knew of. She could feel a dark energy coming from him. She smelled sin from him.
She was helpless in his presence and he enjoyed seeing her tremble and cry. The picture of her best friend kept replaying in her head as she thoughts of all the possibilities that could happen to her.
He stood up. She shivered.
“Sit,” His voice was so deep and overpowering that it didn’t take her much time to do as he says.
She sat on the couch in front of him.
“Do you drink?” He asked taking out an expensive wine bottle.
She shook her head. She so was scared of him that she couldn’t form words. He was calm like the ocean but she felt he had something hiding in his chest. Something that will destroy her without even trying.
“Why?” He asked.
She swallowed the lump in her throat. “S-Sin.” She didn’t know why she was so scared of him. If it was any other man, she would have taken care with her fists. He emitted something from her past. And her only weakness was the past.
His smile sent a shiver down her spine. “Sign these papers and it won’t be a sin anymore.”
She frowned. There were marriage certificates in front of her. “Sign it?”
“I promise you freedom.” He said.
“What made you think that I will come here and do as you say?”
He turned to her. “Something precious.”
“What?”
He approached her. He was so close to her that when she backed off, she fell on the couch. He took long gulps from the wine and slammed his lips on her.
She thrashed in his hold but she could never get away from this.
A few moments later, he felt the weight of her on him. She fainted.
His bodyguard came to him running. “Master, the wine has been drugged.”
He smiled while carrying her. “I know. Prepare the dungeon."
Five days agoWho is he? At the flower shop, in the bookstore, the coffee shop, and even in my house I was receiving books. My favorite books. Someone was delivering them which were painted in red blood. I didn't know if it was real or not but the smell was strong. At first, I labeled it as a prank but days passed by and I kept receiving them now and then. Mrs. Rose smelled the book and said they might be coming from a spirit. I doubted that though. I didn't show any of them to Mia. She was worried about herself. I kept them under my bed. I was scared of the stack that was growing day by day. I felt like if I asked for help things just might go against me. The smell of blood became vivid and the stack grew. My gut feeling kept replaying those eyes I saw on the balcony. I kept thinking that he might be the one to do all this. Why? I have lived a quiet life and never messed with anyone. Why would this happen to me or what was the purpose of all this?"Why?" I whispered as the wind blew
A bright light pierced my eyes as I squinted trying to take in my surroundings. I groaned and sat up while holding my head. My head was going to explode. I patted my side trying to reach for my glasses. The bed was so soft. Is it my bed? I looked around. Where in the world am I? The room wasn't mine. The dark interior of the walls and the massiveness were just too overwhelming. The chandelier on top of my head was protected by a glass on the ceiling which emitted a warm light on me. I let out a breath as the memory seeped into my mind. I needed to get out of here. I don't even know who he is. I removed the duvet and walked towards the door. It was locked. Fear started to erupt in my chest. I remember those moments when he kissed me. The drink in his mouth had something that came inside me. Lord, help me. What did I get myself into? A tear slipped from my eye. Should I bang on the door? No. It will most likely alert them. I have to make do through the window. I walked towards the
"Why would she run from her love?" The customer behind me complained about the TV show. I was making her latte with my back facing her.My hands were working fast. I needed to get home quickly. I did not feel like working today. As I handed her the drink, I immediately took off my apron and headed toward the staff room. I took a deep breath and fixed everything. The last customer left as the shop closed and I was on my way back. The night was so dark, darker than usual. No stars followed me and even the moon hid behind dark clouds. The only sound that I heard was the sound of my footsteps in the alleyway. My feet were still sore and the blisters from my shoe had reddened which made it difficult for me to walk. Nevertheless, I walked and walked. My legs were begging me to stop. If I stopped now I would never be able to run again. Because there was someone behind me and I knew who it was. Ever since I ran away from that mansion, from that bizarre man who kidnapped me and tried to mak
I signed the papers of the agreement. I did it while holding my breath and clutching my heart in my hand. I had felt helpless after so long. The freedom I felt after coming from the US was snatched from me by this man.He forced me. Blackmailed me. Showed pictures of my family to make me sign the contract. I didn't even know what to do or who to ask for help but I protested and defended as much as I could. He made me sign it and left me in the shop, alone, afraid, and helpless. I never felt this vulnerable in my entire life.He gave me two days to be ready and I didn't even know for what. Maybe he will make me move into his hellhole. What will I say to Mia? How will I contact my mother? What will I do with him? I didn't even know what he wanted from me. I wanted to run away from this. I feel trapped after so long. All this time, I had been jailed since my childhood. And now, this man came and forced me into a contract. I ruffled my hair and groaned. It was night time and Mia will b
His patience lay thin as he tapped his shoes on the marble floor of the luxurious office cubicle in which his secretary was narrating his schedule for tomorrow. Elio's head rested on his chair as he looked up at the ceiling. His attention was not on his secretary nor did he bother to listen to him. He merely stared up at the ceiling portraying her figure, her face, kindness, and fierceness. Her entirety was making him feel detrimental. As if he wanted to harm that creature in his clutches right now. The innocence she had and the way she put her fighting skills to use was making him lose his mind and he could not grasp the reality of how someone like her could exist. Such an angel, so pure yet so dangerous. "Why would she wear a scarf?" Elio asked, his eyes fixated on the ceiling. His secretary looked at him. "Because she is a Muslim, sir. Grey gave you this information before. She is quiet on the religious side." He said. Elio looked somewhat irritated getting the same piece of i
Chapter TenThe metal door of the dungeon made no sound as he came through. His shoe sound tapped on the rusty floor on top of which a petite figure lay almost unconscious. Her figure was curled up into a ball. Tears previously streamed down her face leaving marks on her cheeks. Elio knelt. His grey eyes looked deeply at the girl in front of him. The same girl who made him lose his mind a few days ago was right in front of him. In his grip.He won't lose her anymore nor will he let her go. He will keep her with him. In his hellhole. His thoughts gave him ecstasy. He brushed the hair strands away from her face. He married her by paper. She was his wife now. Someone who was not supposed to be revealed to the world. He did not know why he felt the need to hide her. He wanted to cage her and remove anyone in his path who dared to look at her. He smiled.Scooping her in his arms, he took her out of the dungeon. He had to keep her here. For him, she must learn how to behave. He took her t
The kitchen room was the only living place in the mansion of evil. Everything was dead by the ruthlessness of the monster. One thing that could not be destroyed was the heart of the mansion. The kitchen. The housemaids talking to each other was the only thing that kept them alive and somewhat… Happy. They were not content with life but at least whatever happened was tolerable for them as they had the company of each other. Alice, the eldest among them, was cutting onions while hearing the conversation of the youngsters. "She is so kind." One of them said, "And she is beautiful too. Gosh, her fate." The other one said. Zoya, one of them snickered. "Do you guys have eyes or not? How is she pretty? She doesn't even look like she is supposed to be here." The others shook their heads. Zoya was jealous of Ayah. She kept complaining to Alice about why she was there. Though Alice paid her no heed. The conversation halted for a moment as the sound of cars was heard roaring in the distanc
"Elio! Duck!" Alex shouted. His hands were still holding onto the gun. Elio, still taken aback by the gunshot looked at his friend. He ducked as he said but then another one of his guards was shot dead. He had brought Ayah to the Lighthouse but right after reaching the nursing home, several gunshots were heard as Alex came to the rescue. His eyes went to the shooter. He looked back and he saw many of them hiding in different spots. His eyes reddened. How dare anyone get into his territory? Just then, his thoughts reached Ayah. His head shot towards where she was. She was shocked as her eyes widened. As he was about to go to her, Alex jumped on him and made him crouch behind the car. Another gunshot was heard. Alex shot several bullets as Elio hissed. "What the heck is going on?" He grumbled. Alex looked at him. "I don't know. My secretary told me that shooters were stalking you so I came as fast as I could.""Who are they?" Elio groaned. Alex did not answer and just kept on shoot
