Chapter 37: Argument

As I pulled into the parking lot of our apartment complex, I hesitated before turning off the engine. My mind was a jumbled mess of emotions, still reeling from the DNA test I had just taken.

I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that had settled in my stomach since Tiffany's threat to tear me and Laia apart.

Before I left the hospital, Tiffany had reminded me that once the result was out, she'll do her best to do everything to get me back, even by force. I couldn't understand what gains she would achieve for wrecking my newly formed family. I don't even have anything she can take from me. The wealth and position I have is not even mine in the first place, and it will all be gone once I made a mistake according to my contract with Laia's father.

Though I had known that Tiffany was obsessed with me, I never could have imagined her going to such lengths after our break-up two years ago. I know I needed to talk to Laia about it, but I don't know how to bring up
