Chapter 22- The challenge

“Then you would love to take it off someday, would you?” I tease back.

“Only if you let me,” he said, and I chuckled.

“Let me go dress for dinner, you tease,” I said, and I could hear him let out a laugh as I walked out of the room.

As soon as I went back to our room, I made my way to the wardrobe. I looked through it and settled for a breezy summer dress that reached my knees.

I put it on and stood in front of a mirror, twirling. The dress was beautiful and made me feel so beautiful. It was extravagant even though it was a simple garment.

Exiting the room, I went back to my children’s room to get Leo. I found him with the kids, playing with their toys and telling them a story at the same time. He seemed to be getting along well with them, and even Desmond seemed so lost in what he was saying.

Mary, on the other hand, had returned with some food and was setting up the little table for them.

"Okay boys, I'll be back soon with more stories," Leo announced, eliciting cheers from the child
