CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-FOUR - I'M SORRY I WASN'T THERE

Tony POV

Tory stopped what she was doing and looked pointedly at me. She struggled to control her patience; I could see that when her brows knitted without warning.

She used to do that when working on something in her head.

I am just glad she did not cut my head off with a scream.

This Tory in front of me was different. Maybe it was the pregnancy. She was more brooding and silent when she learned she was pregnant. Or it might be due to the pain I caused her.

I gritted my teeth, blaming myself, but I could not let this topic go. I had to be shameless. I had to rile Tory, or she might go into depression.

“I want to take care of you and the baby. I am worried.”

She scoffed.

From the way I looked at it, her stance had not changed since the last time we had our talk. She would rather have her peace than stay with me.

“No, Tony. We already talked about this. I need to get away. To sort myself.”

“But you are pregnant. What if something suddenly goes wrong?”

Thought he had determined not to pursue her with the questions on their firstborn.. and yet he had done it again out of the blue when he was trying to make her stay with him which didn’t made sense .. and surprisingly she divulged the truth without much prompting unlike in the past ..

Felt this and last chapter were moving a bit too fast like he suddenly realized he loved her out if the blue after hating and avoiding her for so many years .. and Tory’s sudden relent to him and poured out the truth on their firstborn just like that when she had been keeping mute about it from him
