CHAPTER SEVENTY-ONE - TRY

Cassy POV

"Adam...." 

"What?" 

I pursed my lips before telling him what I wanted to say.

“Thank you. For always being there. I may not be vocal with my feelings, but for me, you will always be the best brother.”

My face contorted while I reined in the feeling of gratitude that threatened to overwhelm me. 

Adam stood up and walked to my table. He sat near the edge, facing me. This time, I met his eyes and saw his understanding. 

“You are my only sister, Cassy, and I will always look out for you.” He said.

I nodded. 

Adam stood up and stretched his arm above his head. Then, he ruffled my hair like he used to do when we were kids. 

“Ugh! Not my hair!” I shrieked, surprising the two of us. 

Adam laughed
