CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO - PAIN

Cassy POV

Caleb rubbed his cheek slowly while his eyes locked with mine.

“I am not engaged. I cannot be engaged.” He insisted.

The quiet insistence in his voice tinged with the seriousness in his eyes, did not calm the storm in my heart.

It had the opposite effect.

It made me furious!

How dare he!

I pressed my lips together, fed up with his cruel games.

We both knew the score. But if Caleb wanted to continue lying, that is not going to be my problem anymore.

I already gave him a chance to thresh out the loose ends between us because I believe we both need closure to heal and move forward. But if Caleb insisted on lying to me. Then, there was nothing I could do about it.

I can ditch the closure goodbye and never look back.

Today, Caleb made me realize that there is no sense in asking for closure with a man who toyed with your feelings and lied to you all through your married life.
