I smiled at Erin's parents, feeling great to see them this happy. Also, in a way, I felt guilty. They didn't know that I had been the one who had caused this ruckus in the first place. They thought I was helping their daughter to get her memory back because we were good friends. But no, I was only paying for my sins. 

"Now that she feels better, and knowing you're with her, I'll be comfortable going back to Canada," Erin's mother, Ann, said. 

Her dad smiled at me. "Me too. We really feel bad that our daughter hasn't gotten her memory back, but since the doctor has assured us that she'll get it back soon, I'm fulfilled. Thanks for your help, my boy."

"I'm so happy." Ann wiped her tears off, sniffled between. "Thanks so much. Her health wouldn't have improved if you weren't with her."<
