Chapter 23

“I have truly been living for that man for three whole years now. Not anymore,”

She whispered and closed the diary. She kind of wished she could drink alcohol to help her fall asleep but she didn’t want to hurt her little one in any way. She already hurt her twice today, first by choosing to go to a meeting with that man and secondly by kissing his alcohol-filled mouth even though it would have hurt her. Okay, technically, that’s not enough to harm her but still, she shouldn’t have been kissing Luciano in the first place.

“I am sorry, my darling.”

She apologized, holding her lower abdomen.

“I will always put you first from now on,”

Her phone beeped and she checked to see that Luciano had deposited money in her account. She checked her balance.

“Whoa, is he trying to buy me back with money or what?”

“If he thinks I will return the money then he really doesn’t have any idea who I am,”
