XAVIER?

Matteo was at the dining table, taking his breakfast when his mother joined him. He looked at her and continued with his food without uttering a word. She panicked but calmed herself.

"Teo dear. How was your night?" Her voice filled with motherly concern, eagerly waiting for her son's reply. Only the clanking of their cutleries followed. She looked around nervously to see if anyone was around, luckily nobody was. Lowering her shoulders, a pang of pain struck her heart.

"Do you like the meal-" he cut her flow of words by standing up from the chair, leaving his food. He walked away from the table, making head for the stairs. "Teo, I'm sorry. Please, forgive your mother." She cried and stood behind him. His fingers twitched, his eyes grew teary, and he didn't want to turn back. His feet turned weak, unable to move.
