CHAPTER 36: TRIAL OR ERROR

Dale’s POV

“Are you nervous?”

Stacey looked anxious. We’re inside the courtroom and it hasn’t started yet.

“Yeah,” she’s breathing hastily.

I reached for her hand and tried to calm her.

“Everything is fine. You just have to tell what you knew”

“Okay”

Slowly, she’s calming down. I look on the other side and Zae’s mother doesn’t look fine. She must be anxious, especially for the fact that this will be controversial once people learn the truth about her.

“Please rise. The Regional Trial Court, Branch 04 is now in session, the Honorable Judge Samuel Marquez presiding.”

It has started. This is it. I am one step closer to getting justice for Zae.

“Thank you, you may all be seated. Call the case.”

“Your Honor, today's case is Criminal Case No. L-10873 People of the Philippines vs. Marissa C. Garza.”

“Is the prosecution ready?”

Our attorney stood and answered that he was ready.

“Is the defense ready?”

The defense attorney answered the same.
