Chapter 83. Silence and Attention

Lance's lips curved, forming a smile. He then said to Ryn, "That's my mom."

The nervousness Ryn felt was getting worse. The girl gulped saliva with difficulty and then forced a smile.

"I was so nervous," she admitted.

Lance chuckled.

"You're just going to meet my mom. There’s no need to be nervous. Trust me, she's a good person," the man said.

"That's why. I'm only going to meet your mother, but I'm more nervous than I am about meeting my future mother-in-law," the girl said.

Ryn's words made Lance's smile suddenly fade. For a moment, the man felt thrown into a different dimension. A world different from the one he had lived in all this time. If only Ryn knew that he wished the girl's words came true.

"Why didn't you say you were coming this soon? I haven't even put my cake in the oven yet," yelled Judith, who was still busy in the kitchen.
