Aria's POV

My plan went down the drain when Nicholas came. His judging eyes pierced through me while Elora excused herself. I calmly sipped my coffee, acting as if everything was normal and there was nothing to worry about.

For once, I begged fate to be on my side, but it constantly got in the way. Thinking about everything, especially the secrets Nicholas is keeping from me, does not make me feel at ease. I swore to accept everything he could give me, no matter how bad it was. However, I couldn't help but feel how unjust our situation is.

"What did Elora do here?"

I didn't glance at him and kept my gaze set on the horizon. "She brought my coffee."
