CHAPTER 74 - LOVE MAKES US HUMAN

Marmie checked her wristwatch and wiped the sweat off her face using the back of her other hand. 

She is going to be late. 

Around them, she could hear the blaring of horns. There are other cars stuck in traffic with them. 

"Sir, can you go a little faster?" She requested the cab driver.

"There has been a collision, miss. There is nothing much we can do at the moment."  The driver also looked annoyed. 

To him, being stuck endlessly in traffic also meant a reduction in his daily income. 

Over time, nervousness showed on Marmie's face. She remembered Evan's threat, and knowing him, she was sure that he would make good on that promise given the opportunity. 

She blamed herself for this. If she is not so eager to return to her home to freshen up and change clothes, she would not end up in this situation.
