CHAPTER SEVENTY-SEVEN

Kol’s POV

The sun had set and we had to use our phone torches to light our path.

“We’ve tried almost every building here. Kol, I don’t think she’s here.” Josh panted hard behind me as he exited another of the many buildings around.

“No. I’m not giving up. I know she’s here.”

“Kol, I’m not sa…”

“You can go sit in the car if you want. I’m not leaving here until I scour every inch of this place.” My tone turned hard.

“F*ck you. You know I will never leave Tori if she’s actually here but we don’t know that and I wou…” Both of us paused in our search.

“Did you hear that?” My chest constricted as the noise only increased.

The screams were louder west of us and we ran towards the building almost tripping in our steps. The rubble was too much and dust coated the environment as we approached the entrance.

I inhaled and coughed, the dust entering our lungs. The noise from inside gave us ample coverage to show up unannounced and also allowed us to go straight to where they were without delay.
