That first day, they'd walked into the dining room and the second he'd seen Copeland he'd kissed Alexis. Claiming her in front of his partner and employees. Her car was only a few steps away and with each step she took, her heartbeat accelerated. Why was she acting like that? Spinning around she looked from car to car. No one was there. She was alone. Alexis had gone Christmas shopping. It was two weeks away but she'd told him she wanted to buy gifts for everyone before the Christmas rush begun. He could have told her the rush always started at the beginning of the month but he didn't want to dampen her moods so he let her go. He also needed to buy a few things for the orphanage. Ray had begged to go with her but she'd said no, claiming she was buying a present for him too and she didn't want him to see it. It was safe to say he had separation anxiety because he had a mind to turn his car around and follow her.He'd helped her find an office building and they'd spent at least two weeks together getting everything ready.
