Chapter 18

Alley walked into Charlotte's house, and found her seated, lost in thought. She walked up to her, and waved her hands in front of her face.

After doing it for the third time, Charlotte snapped out of it, with a sigh. Since she got off work, she hasn't been herself. Xavier's request had been stuck on her mind.

"Don't tell me you're thinking? You have nothing to worry about when you work at the Xi company." Alley said, excited.

"Best it's not about the job. I have something I haven't said to anyone, and it's been weighing me down. I have guilty conscience anytime I see my mum."

Alley adjusted her sit on the couch, and entangled her legs, with her hands rested on it, staring into Charlotte's eyes.

"I don't know what it is you have been keeping to yourself, but I promise you one thing, if you tell me now, and you want me to keep it a secret, I promise to do that."

Charlotte did not have a second thought about it, Alley has been her friend for years, and she knows she can confide in her.

"M
