Chapter 25: The Past is Unbearable to Recall

In the following days, Diana behaved very well and did not go out again despite Maddie's insistence. She was thinking about the engagement party that would take place in a week. The last engagement party in her past life was a nightmare. She remembered that because of her foolish behavior, the Matthews family was thoroughly disappointed with her and was not even prepared to fulfill the marriage contract.

John, on the other hand, insisted on holding the engagement party, hoping that she would come. But who knew that she not only absented herself but also called John and cursed him as a cripple, saying that she would never be with him in this lifetime.
