The judge's question made me think for a second, wild thoughts and scary ones, was I going to lose the children? Was I incapable of taking care of them? What did he mean by asking why I should have custody of them? I looked at his face, he seemed resolute and indifferent towards me but when he looked at Jackson I could see pity and consideration in his eyes, Jackson was after all an alpha, will this influence their final decision?

"Miss Evelyn." My attorney said, jolting me out of my reverie.

I flinched subtly and looked at me, he gave an encouraging nod and I could see from the corner of my eyes, that Noah giving me a thumbs up and this was all the encouragement I needed to pour out of my mind. I took a deep breath and began to speak.

"I should have custody of the kids because firstly, it's quite obvious and I'd love to emphasize the fact that I am their mother, they shouldn't be at any stage of their development separated from their mother because I'm like a haven to them,"
