The next moment, Mercer stood up and looked down at the person in front of him. His tone softened as he said, "I have a meeting this afternoon, so I need to leave now. Enjoy your food."

Enjoy? Calla was already brimming with anger because of him.

As soon as she shot Mercer a fierce glare, he turned around. Startled, she quickly lowered her head. She couldn't understand why she, who feared nothing and no one, was afraid of Mercer.

Unfortunately for Calla, Mercer had noticed her glare. With a smirk, he said, "From now on, you'll come here for lunch every day."

"Why should I listen to you?" Calla's frustrated voice suddenly came from behind Mercer just as he turned to leave once more.

"Because I'm your husband," Mercer replied before walking out and slamming the door behind him.

The sound of the closing door made Calla's heart skip a beat. She could sense that his last words before leaving were laden with anger—but so what if he was angry? Calla didn't dwell on it any longer.
