36. Unwanted surprises

Theresia's health is gradually recovering. The middle-aged woman was looking forward to going home to a house full of luxurious furniture worth millions of dollars. Being cooped up in the treatment room was very boring.

A man in a white coat entered the treatment room, accompanied by a nurse pushing a trolley filled with medical equipment.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen," greeted the doctor kindly.

Theresia and Edmund smiled back at the doctor's friendliness, then almost simultaneously they replied, "Good afternoon, Doctor."

The doctor opened the pages of a book in his hand, which presumably contained a record of Theresia's health conditions during her sixteen days in the hospital.

"How is it, ma'am? Are there any complaints?" the doctor asked without taking his eyes off the notebook he was holding.

Theresia enthusiastically replied, "Not at all, Doctor. I am very well now."
