69. Theresia's attack

The atmosphere at the dining table seemed quieter than usual. The three people who were there were focused on the cutlery in their hands.

Edmund, as a husband, could not hide his sadness because this morning his wife was not by his side to enjoy breakfast.

Elena glanced toward the sound of pattering feet. With a glance, she could see Irene walking towards Theresia's room with a tray of food.

Just then, Elena put down the cutlery and rose to her feet. Making the two men who were there stare at the woman with questioning looks.

Elena walked up to Irene and called the middle-aged woman's name to stop her.

"Let me deliver the food to mom." Elena asked, which Irene, of course, couldn't refuse. The woman held up a palm, gesturing for Irene to hand over the tray she was carrying.

"Let Irene deliver the food to your mother, Elena. You'd better continue finishing your meal," Edmund admonished, which instantly made Elena feel proud.

This time she wanted to show her good daughter-in-law behavior
