Chapter 22:

Levi clearly wasn’t interested in these matters, turning away to climb the heavily guarded city wall. He had employed stealth techniques, passing in front of the fortress soldiers without being noticed.

Levi’s gaze swept around the faces of the fortress soldiers. “Mandy is not here,” he said before jumping down from the wall and entering the city.

Within the strict confines of the city at night, there was not a soul on the streets, not even the sound of a barking dog. The atmosphere weighed heavily, prompting Arista to seek conversation to relieve her emotions. “Big Demon, did you rush to find Mandy because you love her?”

Levi didn’t bother to listen to her question.

Arista smirked. “I guess not,” she said. “Based on my observations during this time, you, my dear, seem more like a vile little creature. Remembering someone like her must be for reasons other than love. You’re more like a thief remembering stolen goods, more interested in the prize than the person...”
