Marsh’s blithe statement didn’t set too well with Jill, never mind how truthful it might be. ‘All I have to say to that is if you don’t turn aroimd and take me to my parents’ house. ‘No, I’m not.’ Jill shook her head. ‘I’ll be very upset with you if you do this.’ She didn’t know if the threats she’d thrown out would worry the sheriff, but it didn’t matter. She couldn’t to go to Lassiter.
