Chapter 42; Human RealmWhen Megan was 1 year and 6 months into the pregnancy, KuLaa made her go through a ritual where she spent every full moon sleeping in a circle drawn on the deck or by the stern of the ship, depending on which side the moon was hanging. This ritual was to help her balance out her strength since she had stopped absorbing external essences. This ritual went on until the day Megan went into labor. Fortunately for her, it was on a full moon. KuLaa was so happy. According to her, it was a sign that the Moon mother favored Megan and her cubs. The labor was difficult and long. It took Megan three days to push out the cubs and in those three days, KuLaa, through her magic, made sure the Moon never stopped shining and when the cubs arrived, she made sure the sun didn't set for another seven days.
