Chapter 18
Jared POV
Having just gotten off the phone with Alpha Kate, she confirmed she would be attending Lily’s Luna ceremony with Colby. She also confirmed Miranda, the witch, was on her way. When she arrived, she would literally pop in; meaning she would come in an untraditional manner. We could expect her in the next couple days.
With that off my mind, I decided it was time to go check on Lily. I had only been away from her for a short period of time, but I was already missing her immensely. As I shut my office door and turned to leave, I ran into my mother once again. She had been after me to be able to see Lily. For someone who did not like the idea of her in the first place, she certainly seemed to have changed her mind now.

Lily POV As Jared and I were just getting ready to eat, Rick and Miranda come back into the room. Rick has his arm around Miranda’s waist as Miranda looks like she would rather be anywhere else. As Rick helps Miranda to sit beside him, I smirk over at her. She always thought the mating of wolves was not something she would entertain. She felt women should be able to choose. Miranda POV After finishing an early supper, I went to my room. I needed some time alone away from everyone to process what the Moon Goddess had done. Giving me a wolf for a mate was rarely heard of. Miranda POV After an amazing night and slow start to our morning, Rick and I have joined Lily and Jared in the meeting room along with Alex. It was time to give them my preliminary thoughts on what I had learned so far. As everyone took their seats I started. “So, the first thing I realize is many people love Lily already in the Pack,” I say. Seeing Jared look at Lily pleased, he turns back to me. “There are a handful who are indifferent and some who had a connection to the other woman who was going to be Luna before Lily,” I say. Lily POV I was bursting with excitement as I watched the cars roll up. My brother is Alpha to the Golden Moon Pack, along with Kate who shares the title with him. For this reason, he always travels with warriors for protection. The Golden Moon Pack is among the second largest Packs in our region. I can see my mom waving to me from the car and as soon as the car stops, she jumps out of the car running up the stairs. Lily POV Walking into our room, I look around feeling like something was disturbed. There is a faint scent I don’t recognize lingering, but I realize it could have been one of the staff. I still didn’t know everyone well enough as yet. Kate POV Seeing Lily in much better shape than I had seen her when she was still in the hospital was by far the best. I knew she was still experiencing headaches, but they were seemingly getting better. And she was still trying to piece things together about the attack on her. Lily POV Last night’s meal went perfectly. Everyone was together, telling stories of when Reid, Kate, and I were younger. Jared loved learning about my childhood from my family’s perspective.
