[Tatiana’s POV]

I stare straight ahead, trying to process exactly what just happened as my worry for Knight continues to build.

Where in the world was he, and who were those men that he was fighting? Were they his father’s men, or maybe my uncles? I didn’t know, but now that I couldn’t feel the connection with him, my heart was beating a mile a minute, and the urge to go find him clawed at me.

“What’s wrong?” Winley’s voice is gentle but full of urgency as she reaches out and grabs me. “You look like you’ve just seen a ghost.”

“I have,” I respond, feeling a chill race down my spine as Knight’s warning hits me.
