“He is my cousin, Ryker. He is the only family I have left. I can’t be selfish enough to leave him alone when I know that he is in danger,” I tell him, removing the damn wig from my head.

Perhaps it was the wrong decision to come here in the first place. I should have stayed with Elias in his pack.

“Let me remind you if you’re forgetting, he is my friend, too,” Ryker spits icily, standing before me with folded arms and a stone face, his steely gaze fixated on me as he studies my expressions.

I know that I’m panicking but I can’t help it. After reading that creepy note and learning about the rogues’ constant attacks on his pack, I can’t just stay here selfishly while he fights for his pack, and what if something happens to him… I’ll never be able to forgive myself.

At this moment, nothing matters more than my cousin’s safety and well-being. If those bloody creatures can break into the Academy’s security system and kill an Alpha, it won’t be hard for them to attack Elias.
