“How could I have been such an imbecile? How the fuck couldn't I see through her fakeness? She was lying to my face all this time and I adored her like an idiot.”

Dante watched without a word as Enzo rambled on, sitting across the table from him in the bar where Enzo had made him come to drown his sorrows.

Enzo brought his bottle of beer to his lips and took four long gulps all at once. Dante winced, knowing gulping that much mustn't have been easy.

Or maybe Enzo was in too much pain to actually feel the sting.

It'd been a long time since Dante had seen his best friend like this; so messed up, so broken. Three years to be exact.

If Gianna's betrayal had broken him so much, Dante could only imagine how this second betrayal was making him feel. All thanks to that cursed Gypsy.

After polishing off his beer, Enzo set it back on the table and turned his head to the bar.
