Nails

*Violet's POV*

As expected, I don’t sleep very well and when I wake up around 7am for probably the 10th time that night, I decide to just stop trying to go back to sleep and go for a run instead. Thankfully, I promised Lucas that I would help him set up for the party and get ready with him so I only have to deal with Harper and my mother until after lunch. 

I feel a little bad about this because I’m basically abandoning Kane in the house with his father but he told me he would just find somewhere else to hang out.

When I return from my run, I see Harper coming down the stairs and I pull my headphones out of my ears.

“Good morning Violet,” He says with a smile.

“Good morning,” I reply with a smile that I hope doesn’t look as forced as it feels. When I had to hug him yesterday it took everything in me not to vomit.
