I was surprised and didn’t realize I slipped my tongue. I turned to Vivienne who was throwing a death glare at me.
“I mean nursing her pocket since she was broke, as you said. She accidentally broke my friend's phone.” I immediately amended what I just said.
“Oh, I am so sorry for that. Is the problem has been settled? How am I going to repay you, then?”
“That’s nothing, Mrs. Alfonso.”
“Oh, join us for dinner, then. I'll just prepare the table.”
“Mom! You shouldn’t feed this brute. The stocks were just enough for us for a month!” Vivienne yelled at her Mom who went to the kitchen.
“Nah! Giving him dinner would not hurt. After all, you are indebted to him.”
