I was a jerk. I felt like I was being a jerk. I don’t even have the guts to tell her I am the one who decided for her dismissal. But it was just for her own good.

Regardless, I can’t tell her. I can’t gamble the chance that she’ll get angry with me. Our relationship just started and I don’t want to end it just yet. I don’t want it to come to an end.

I sighed. “Don’t you think it’s for the better? You can rest all night and you would be able to come to school on time. You don’t have to rush.”

“You don’t understand. I need that job.” She said, trying hard to conceal her sobs. Did she really think I would never notice? “Even if it’s bruising my ego to work in the company we once owned, I still did. It’s my only life line to continue my studies. So, how come it was for the better?
