Desperation

I felt a rising sense of desperation. I needed to get to her, to the witch world, but I had no idea how. The connection through the Mirror was gone, and with it, my only link to my grandmother.

Elara placed a comforting hand on my arm. "We'll find a way, Raven. We won't give up."

But how? I racked my brain for any solution, any hint of how to bridge the gap between our worlds. Then, a memory surfaced—one of the many stories my grandmother used to tell me. A tale of someone who crossed dimensions to marry into another kin.

"I need to find her," I said, more to myself than to anyone else.

"Find who?" Duke asked, his brow furrowing.

"There's someone who crossed dimensions before. My grandmother told me a story about her. If I can find her, maybe she can help us get to the Witch world."

Elara, who had been silently listening, stepped forward. "Do you know who this person is or where to find her?"
