"Really?" I raised a brow. "I didn't know that you were so bitter, Bert. Do you even realise how immature that was? You wanted your son to lead the pack at any cost and when that didn't happen, you chose violence. That's so childish. Just because my dad wouldn't order me to mate with your son. Did you even once ask Kyle what he wanted? I'm sure he would love to find the one meant for him instead of mating with someone way older."

I believe Bert was at a loss for words. Hardly able to contain his disgust, he turned away and grimaced.

"Unbelievable!" I breathed out. "Normally parents would be exhilarated about their pups finding their soulmates. But I guess you're an exception."

He sneered at me. "I was hoping that you would become his mate but that didn't happen."

I rolled my eyes. It was a waste of time talking about that so I changed the topic.

"So you let Michael escape from the dungeons, didn't you? Didn't you care about what might happen to the innocent pups?"
