Grave Loss

Scarlett's pov

At first, I was glad to see that just a few had died. We didn't lose a lot of wolves in the battle. Still, it was a loss for us. Even one life was precious. Nonetheless, my world came crashing down when I spotted her lifeless body lying among our fallen warriors. Though the numbers were less, I had lost one of the most important people in my life.

I touched her cheeks. They were cold. Tears continued to blur my vision. I could barely hold back my sniffles and sobs still, I wanted to spend the last moments with her.

I couldn't help but think about the incidents of the past. I tried to rack my brain for the motive of this attack. Back then, mom and dad arrived at the luna ceremony. Everything was going smoothly until then. There weren't any rogue attacks. So what was this attack about? Besides, weren't rogues rabid loners who had cut ties with all forms of civilisation?
